Content Creations
In March 2020-20, when Auskick clinics had just been closed down due to COVID lockdown, it really hit home for Libby how hard that loss was to the Auskick kids. They didn’t get to see their friends, they didn’t get to wear their favourite clubs guernseys, they didn’t get to have fun and be active, they weren’t able to enjoy the game of AFL! At this time, Libby selflessly volunteered to create online Auskick Clinics for every kid and family who was missing out on being a part of the Auskick culture. It was a heartfelt attempt to answer a pressing question: how can we bring this AFL Auskick culture back to the kids and families right in the comfort and safety of their own homes? It was from this desire that AFL Auskick at Home was born. Libby's dedication and innovative approach garnered an incredible response from Auskick centres and families all over Australia. They eagerly welcomed the content and joined into the spirit with open arms, grateful for the opportunity to keep the spirit of Auskick alive, even from the confines of their own homes.
More for the kids
Try it Tuesday was an innovative concept that resonated with viewers from the start. The initial success of the show encouraged me to expand its reach by inviting other prominent AFL women's and men's stars to participate. One particular episode that stands out in my memory is the one featuring the incredibly talented Majak Daw. His presence on the show not only brought a new level of excitement but also drew in a larger audience.
The years between 2017 and 2020 witnessed a remarkable growth trajectory for AFLkids. From its humble beginnings with just 1000 followers, the channel experienced a phenomenal surge, accumulating over 13000 followers within a short span of time. Such significant growth prompted a rebranding, transforming AFLkids into a commercial channel known as Aussie Rules.
This transition exemplifies the channel's evolution from a small-scale endeavor to a professional platform, catering to the interests and passions of AFL enthusiasts nationwide. With the expanded scope and new branding, Aussie Rules is better positioned than ever to showcase the best of Australian Rules Football and engage with a wider audience eager to immerse themselves in the world of this captivating sport.
